I went to Costa Rica for a few weeks in 2005 and can attest to its greatness as an adventure travel destination! I did a zipline near the Montaverde Cloud Forest, hiked around volcanoes, and got clobbered surfing on the Pacific coast.

you know what's weird, costa rica thinks they are the kings of canopy and ziplines. but now i have proof:) great article, i am dying to go to new zealand. however, i do have to say, costa rica is a great place for adventure travelers, too! The Travel Expert(a) and an Expat with a Twist
