Photo Favorite: Ratanakiri Breakdown

by Dave on February 3, 2011 · 0 comments

Ratanakiri is a province in northeastern Cambodia.  Off the beaten tourism track of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, visiting the region was my attempt to leave the big cities behind, and strike out into the unknown before leaving the country completely.

While the minivan I took into town barely made it due to the headlights failing just as we reached the unpaved portion of the trip, it was the minivan ride out of town that lead to the photo below.  Total breakdown.  We were left to swelter for an hour under the mid-day Cambodian sun until a new van could rescue us, complete with cold bottles of water for our refreshment!
