March 2013, I spent six days in the Amazon forest on the Bolivian side. Stayed three days in the swamps and three days deep in the jungle. Got eaten alive by mosquitoes. But it was an experience of a lifetime! Saw many different kinds of wildlife including: alligators, turtles, pink river dolphins, loads of birds, snakes, wild boars, monkeys, and much more. Went hunting for anacondas, but got hunted by mosquitoes instead.
The jungle experience is incredible and indescribable. And the Amazon is the mother of all jungles. This is a must do if you're not afraid of getting dirty.
