The following is a guest post by Karl Barth, who recently returned from his first international tripto Romania! If you have a travel story you want to share on Go Backpacking, please read our submission guidelines.
Many parts of Romania contain incredibly ornate Eastern Orthodox Churches. These are especially prevalent in Bucharest. The churches I visited were typically open to the public during normal business hours and most of them did not mind if pictures were taken, which I gladly participated in. However, most of the churches are very dimly lit and flash photography is not allowed, so be prepared with the proper equipment if you desire such pictures.
