Hey, Dave - very cool that you decided to dip your toes into the vlogging world. I've been thinking of doing it myself but I'll admit to being a bit intimidated. Kudos to you for putting yourself out there.
Any idea what topics you plan on vlogging about in the future?

Mike - I have no clue. I'd like to pretend the clip I posted was my first, however it was actually my 7th take. I quickly learned how many factors you have to keep in mind if you want the video to be watchable...
- background lighting
- how far away you hold the camera
- speaking loud enough
- speaking clearly enough
- speaking at a good rate (not too fast, not too slow)
- being animated and aware of your body language
I have to admit it's really cool though! I'll definitely take a video of my Absinthe shot (so be sure to fill out the survey to the left!), otherwise you'll just have to wait and see.

I shot one video for another site of mine where I had to speak "off the cuff" for about 5 minutes straight. I think it took me about 20 takes. It's a lot harder than I initially thought to not look like an idiot =)

Hi Dave, I like the video. I also like the writing, so I recommend a mix of the two!

Dave,
I like the video, stick with it! As you may have noticed, I have been trying to include a little bit of video in my blog, and I have to say that it is a lot more work than I thought! I am impressed you did your first one in only 7 takes, it took me around 30, and to be honest the lighting still looked like crap.
Oh well, live and learn I guess, good luck with the video, it would definitely be a cool thing to take with you on the road!

Nice job with the drying fruit video. I never thought of DIY snack making with fruit, however it makes plenty of sense if you're trying to save money on food.
