Ice Climbing - Viedma Glacier
The author ice climbing on Viedma Glacier in Patagonia

Here are a  few travel experiences I hope to accomplish in my lifetime:

  • Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
  • Travel overland through eastern Africa (Victoria Falls to Nairobi)
  • Take the Trans-Siberian Railway
  • Take the world's highest train from China to Lhasa, Tibet
  • Take the 2-day, mountain bus ride from McLeod Ganj to Leh, India
  • Bicycle down Corocio, the “world's most dangerous” road, in Bolivia
  • Handglide in Rio de Janeiro
  • Trek to Machu Picchu
  • Play Indiana Jones in Petra, Jordan
  • Recite lines from Casablanca in Casablanca
  • Trek in Patagonia
  • Climb a 6,000-meter peak
  • Live in Medellin again
  • Visit the motherland – Russia
  • Push my comfort boundaries with a jaunt to Damascus
  • Take a Zen meditation course in Japan
  • Eat cobra heart in Vietnam (just like Bourdain)
  • Drive the Pacific Coast Highway in California
  • Trek to Everest Base Camp
  • Spot wild moose in Alaska
  • Oktoberfest in Munich (yes, I know it is for the tourists!)
  • Go ice climbing
  • Take a wilderness survival course
  • Swim with a dolphin
  • Go whitewater rafting on the Zambezi River (Class V)
  • See the US Men's National team play in a World Cup abroad

Nice list, Dave! Love the Casablanca one!

Well, get yourself over here then. Oktoberfest starts in like 3 weeks :)

I did the overlanding thing in East Africa and have plenty of opinions on tour companies if you ever want some assistance! I’ve also written a few blogs on my experience under the African categories on my blog. And don’t forget whitewater rafting in the Nile, too (Jinja, Uganda). So many of your items are my goals as well. Thanks for sharing!

Very cool. I talked to tons of people in South Africa about their overland trips. I decided to save a really big one for a future adventure, but did enjoy my 5 days in Kruger Park and week in Botswana, both through Livingstone Trails.

A good friend recently bought me a great map/guide for Munich that came with special code to access an online database at http://www.alacartemaps.com, ideal for creating your own Oktoberfest itinerary

You lost me, buddy. I mean, I suppose I get what youre saying. I get where youre coming from. But you just seem to have forgotten that there are people out there who can see this issue for what it really is and may not agree with you. You seem to alienate a whole bunch of people who might have been fans of your blog.
